I thought it became abundantly clear what the "secret" was to their feeding grounds. That they are fish and capable of spewing fire, I took to be just the fantasy element a reader accepts from this genre.<BR/><BR/>Hope you enjoy <I>The Hand That Bears the Sword</I>.
